Questions to Ask a Shaftless Positioning Sheeter Supplier

YD1300 / YD1400 Shaftless Positioning Sheeter

Before requesting a shaftless positioning sheeter quotation, define the paper or board job and the finished sheet you need. Yueda lists the YD1300 and YD1400 with shaftless roll handling for packaging paper and board. The following questions help make a supplier discussion specific enough to support a configuration review.

Does the proposed model fit the complete job?

Provide paper grade, grammage, coating or laminate structure, roll details and finished-sheet dimensions. The YD model table lists roll widths of 700–1200 mm for YD1300 and 700–1300 mm for YD1400, with sheeting lengths of 400–1200 mm for both.

Ask the supplier to check the combined requirements and review representative samples. A listed grammage limit does not establish compatibility with every surface treatment, and the reviewed paper-and-board information does not confirm film or foil applications.

What does shaftless roll handling include?

Ask how the supplied unwind arrangement accommodates the proposed roll diameter, core and weight, and which loading equipment is included. The table lists a maximum roll diameter of 1600 mm; core requirements and permissible roll weight still need configuration-specific confirmation.

Shaftless refers here to roll handling, not a claim that every part of the machine has no mechanical shaft. Request a clear equipment list and layout instead of inferring drive architecture or changeover performance from the name.

Is the job fixed-length or printed-positioning work?

For fixed-length work, state the sheet dimensions and agreed tolerance. If the cut must follow a printed mark, provide a sample showing the reference and required cut position. Ask which sensing and control equipment is included and how the result will be demonstrated.

Do not assume a particular sensor, servo package or automatic correction function is standard. Put the required configuration and acceptance conditions in the proposal.

How will output and accuracy be demonstrated?

Ask for a trial using representative material and the intended sheet format. Distinguish linear running speed from sheets per minute, and request the conditions behind the quoted performance. Published maximum values are not a guarantee of acceptable output for every job.

Agree sample selection and measurements for dimensions, squareness, edges and any print-to-cut requirement. The YD acceptance checklist helps organize that discussion.

What is included in delivery and support?

Confirm layout and utilities, finished-sheet handling, installation responsibilities, training, documentation, spare-parts arrangements and service terms. Ask who approves commissioning results and how unresolved issues are recorded. Do not assume an item is included because it appears in a general machine description.
